Pop Floor Mat

When I made my Love Crochet Throw Pillow, there were some leftover yarns from that project. For that throw pillow, I used Bernat Maker Home Dec in 3 colors. This yarn is 72% cotton and 28% nylon, and it’s really soft! Stepping on bare feet feel so comfortable!

I remember seeing both knitting and crochet pattern for floor mat using this yarn at Yarnspirations.com, but those patterns seem it’s gonna take couple days to finish with my crocheting speed. So I wanted to make crochet floor mat that’s much faster to make. I decided to make it with C2C (corner to corner) which works up faster than you think! Make and Do Crew by Jess and One Dog Woof by ChiWei have great instructions on there blog (click on their name for direct link to C2C page) as well as wonderful C2C projects. If you haven’t visited their blog, check them out! It’s totally worth it!

My friend just moved in to her new house so I wanted to make move-in gift! When I visited her house for the first time, she didn’t have a mat for her kitchen so I thought it would be perfect gift! This pop of yellow definitely made kitchen lighter!

After finished with C2C grid, make a border if you like. I did 1 round of SC then 1 round of HDC.
For 1st row, I did 2 SC in CH-3 space and then 1 SC in each DC. For each corner, I did 2 CH then SC to DC or CH-3 space.

This is how it looked in her home! I’m glad she liked it 😆 I gave her rug gripper pad and it doesn’t move at all! It’s perfect!
